TERRACE THEATER at the J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

The Kennedy Center is located on the bank of the Potomac River at 2700 F St., NW, Washington, D.C. 20566, at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue, NW, and Rock Creek Parkway. 

By Metro

The Foggy Bottom/George Washington University/Kennedy Center subway station (on the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines, at 23rd and I Streets, NW), is the stop closest to the Kennedy Center. From there, it is a short walk via New Hampshire Avenue or use our freeKennedy Center Shuttle (signs are toward the left as you exit the escalator). The shuttle departs every 15 minutes from 9:45 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays, noon-11 p.m. Sundays, and 4-11 p.m. on Federal holidays.

By Metro

Take the Washington Metro Red Line to DuPont Circle.  Exit at Connecticut Avenue and Q Street. Walk East 2 blocks on Q Street, crossing over Connecticut Avenue. The Embassy is on the left hand side on the corner of Q Street NW and New Hampshire Avenue NW.

By Car

There is only paid parking by the Embassy.  There is a parking garage on New Hampshire Avenue and DuPont Circle (below the building 11 DuPont Circle NW). There is also metered parking on the streets.

From the Capital Beltway (I-495) Outer Loop

(From Baltimore and points east)

Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue in Kensington, MD (MD 185) and head south on Connecticut Avenue until reaching DuPont Circle in the District.  Go around the circle, and veer to the right on New Hampshire Avenue. Continue one block to the Embassy.

From the Interstate I-395

(from Northern Virginia and points west)

Head north on I-395 towards Washington, DC. Take exit 8B for Virginia 27/Washington Blvd toward Rosslyn.  Merge onto South Washington Blvd entering the District of Columbia. Make a slight left toward Arlington Memorial Bridge. Turn right onto Arlington Memorial Bridge and make a slight left toward Lincoln Memorial Circle NW.  Continue onto Lincoln Memorial Circle NW. Turn left onto 23rd Street NW.  At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto New Hampshire Avenue NW and continue straight to the Embassy.

From I-66 West

Take I-66 E/US 50 E. Keep left at the fork and follow signs for US  50 East/Washington. Merge onto I-66 East entering the District of Columbia. Keep left and follow signs for E Street. Merge onto E Street Expressway. Turn left onto 20th Street NW. Take a slight right onto New Hampshire Avenue NW. At the traffic circle, continue straight to stay on New Hampshire Ave NW. Embassy is on the left.
