Maestro Sergio Buslje and five young Colombian musicians introduced the students of three DC Public Schools --Bancroft elementary school, McFarland Middle School, and Roosevelt High School -- to tango music on April 7, 2017 at the spectacular theater in Roosevelt High School in Ward 4.  The F-31 Quintet from Medellin, Colombia, who were in DC for PASO's Tango Festival, performed traditional and contemporary tango songs and Maestro Buslje explained the origins of the genre, musical techniques, the significance of the music to Argentine culture, and its influence throughout the world. The students received the musicians with an enthusiastic welcome and had many interesting questions to ask of them.
